Palm house

Housed in the original 1854 dairy farmhouse where Cow Hollow derives its name and situated behind the second oldest palm tree in San Francisco, Palm House opened in June of 2014 as San Francisco’s staycation destination, serving tropical food and vacation-inspired drinks.  It always has evoked a bygone era of tropical leisure in a relaxing and inviting setting in the heart of this bustling neighborhood. 

Now celebrating over 11 years as a retro beach bum surfer hideout, Palm House’s vibrant atmosphere, delicious menu, and exciting events make this a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike since. 

EXecutive chef jimi SLAGLE

Chef Jimi Slagle serves as the Executive Chef of Palm House. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, his culinary roots trace back to backyard barbecue pits, crawfish boils, and the bold, communal flavors of the South. A lifelong artist, Jimi discovered early that creating for others—whether in the kitchen or the studio—would be his life’s work.

After moving to the Bay Area in 2013, Jimi honed his craft at The Vine in Niles and Berkeley’s farm-to-table favorite, Gather, before joining San Francisco’s acclaimed Thai restaurant, Kin Khao. His dedication and curiosity led him to Thailand for deeper study and, later, to the role of Chef de Cuisine, helping Kin Khao retain its Michelin star in 2022 and 2023.

Now leading the kitchen at Palm House, Chef Slagle brings his creative spirit and California sensibility to a menu that blends fresh, tropical flavors with vibrant energy. When not in the kitchen, he can be found making pottery, glassblowing, or exploring the Bay Area’s small towns and natural beauty.
